The Rocket Stool is one of Eero Aarnio’s designs. Eero Aarnio is one of the great innovators of modern furniture design. In the 1960s, Eero Aarnio began experimenting with plastics, vivid colors and organic form, breaking away from traditional design conventions. His work has been said to have a communicative capacity and a psychological effect on the user and viewer.

Crafted in solid oak and originally created for Finnish designer Eero Aarnios home kitchen, the bar stool has proved very popular since its introduction by Artek. Aarnio has created many notable pieces over a career that spans five decades. While Aarnio is not primarily known for his wood products, Rocket is a testament to his mastery of the medium.
