For wet messes, use the foam filter. If you are using the Shop-Vac for dry pickup, you will need to replace the foam filter with a dry cartridge filter. You can also install a vacuum bag on the canister. Do not use the dry cartridge filter or vacuum bag to pick up wet messes – you will damage the filter and bag!
